Crucifix necklace

This uncommon and detailed metal brass tone, pectoral Holy Trinity crucifix commemorates the 3rd Millennium of Christ. Represented on this crucifix is God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. On the crucifix's right is an Angel, on the left, the Virgin Mary and below is the Eucharist. The Alpha and Omega symbols at the back signifies the Beginning and the End - Revelation 21. The 'budded' crucifix style also reminds us of the Trinity and also of Faith, Hope and Love - 1 Cor. 13. This crucifix is also known as the 'Apostle's Cross' by its total number of buds on the cross with each bud signifying each of the 12 apostles. A very symbolic crucifix for your collection.

Ornate Medieval French Crucifix Necklace (Copper and SilverTone)

An ornate copper tone, cast crucifix that was inspired by the filigree metalwork of medieval 6th to 12th century Constantinople and monasteries in Europe who studied and imitated the work of Byzantine jewelers. The Fleur-de-lis was added to the arms of crosses to add meaning and embellishment in the 12th century. It was about the 13th century when the Fleur-de-lis was found in depictions of Jesus. It then gradually took on strong Marian symbolism as lilies in France at that time, was associated with the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Intricately delicate filigree design was popular in France during the 16th to the late 19th century. The Fleur-de-lis designs on the ends of the cross were traditionally French. The 3 petals was said to be a sign of divine favor bestowed on France and was also widely associated with the Trinity. The Fleur-de-lis was also found on the coat-of-arms of St. Joan of Arc - Maid of Heaven.

Size: 5.5cm x 3.4cm x 0.7cm. Corpus and cross are in 2 piece construction. Copper tone crucifix comes with contrasting 18 inch antique roman bronze chain.
