Via Crucix

Traditional Way of the Cross Chaplet

When moslems occupy the Holy Land in the late middles ages, pilgrims are no longer able to retrace the path Jesus suffered to Calvary. These stations then were recreated in churches using crosses or representative sculptures or bias reliefs. Persons who are unable to make the stations at the church will also be able to gain indulgences holding a crucifix and prayer beads indulgenced for the Stations and saying the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be, once for each Station (14 times) and 5 more sets for the Holy Wounds of Christ plus one more for the intentions of the Pope.

The traditional Way of the Cross chaplet bears the traditional, imported 14 Stations with Roman numerals on the back, rare Pieta centerpiece and rare traditional Stations of the Cross crucifix.

The chaplet was made with rare Black Labradorite and traditional silver plated connecting links. The chaplet was designed according to the traditional standards used and the meditations are according to St Alphonsus Ligouri.

Kindly contact us if you need the prayer sequence for the above chaplet.

Chaplet of St Gertrude the Great

16 November 2015

Latest Arrival

Our Lord promised Saint Gertrude the Great that 1,000 souls would be released from purgatory each time the prayer is said devoutly. And if one prays the entire St Gertrude chaplet, Our Lord will release 50,000 souls from purgatory each time it is said. The St Gertrude prayer can be found at http://www.sistersofembracement.org/Chpgertrude.htm with instructions on how to pray the chaplet. This chaplet uses the usual five decade rosary except that the cross was replaced by a St Gertrude medallion and the centerpiece is a Sacred Heart medallion. St Gertrude was born in 1256 in Germany. Jesus appeared to her after her 25th birthday and gave her the prayer that would release souls from purgatory. She was an early devotee of the Sacred heart of Jesus which was recorded considerably in her renowned spiritual writings. More about Saint Gertrude the Great can be found at http://www.mtep.com/stgertrude.htm

The chaplet was created in faceted garnets and sapphire beads, to reflect the style of early Germanic jewelry, and with the Sacred Heart centerpiece and very rare St Gertrude the Great medallion.

Chaplet of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus

Latest Arrival

The Chaplet of the Precious Blood, also known as the Precious Blood Rosary, is a meditation on the generous love of Jesus, who shed his blood for us. The prayers of the Chaplet was composed in 1809 by Francesco Albertini, who founded the Arch Confraternity of the Precious Blood. This devotion consists of seven mysteries in which we meditate on the seven principal sheddings of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus.  The chaplet itself consists of 33 beads (six sets of five smaller beads each and three on the drop). In all, thirty three in honor of the thirty-three years of Our Lord’s life on earth. It is an excellent way of heightening our awareness of God's presence in difficult and painful situations. It can help us connect our own suffering, the suffering of those we love, and the suffering of our enemies, with the suffering of Christ. Many people who like to pray the rosary every day, pray the Precious Blood Rosary on Fridays, the day when we traditionally meditate on the Passion.

Click here to read about the promises of Our Lord Jesus Christ: http://valtorta.org/precious_blood_promises_defaultpage.asp and here for the prayers for the chaplet: http://www.catholicdoors.com/prayers/chaplets/chap09.htm

To pray the chaplet, start at the centerpiece to meditate on the first bloodshedding Mystery of Christ. On the 33 small beads, recite the Our fathers. The bigger beads are for the meditation of the second to the sixth Mysteries. The first and the final seventh Mysteries are meditated on the centerpiece. The chaplet is created in rare Bloodstones. The centerpiece and the cross represent the fourth (Crown of thorns) and sixth (Nails used in the terrible crucifixion) principal sheddings of the Most Precious Blood. Exclusively available online here only.

Irish Penal Rosary

An Paidrin Beag

During the time when Henry VIII (1540 till 1731) broke off relations with Rome, Catholics in Ireland were persecuted as the authorities abolished the jurisdiction of the pope and began to demolish Catholic churches and monasteries. These times were known as the 'Penal Times' which was when the Irish Penal Rosaries became popular. As Catholics went underground, this rosary was called the 'underground chaplet' as it was easy to conceal in the palm of one's hand. The ring was moved from the thumb through to the last finger thus completing 5 decades of the rosary.

The above cord-strung rosary was designed in green jade Aves and Jadeite Pater. The penal crucifix with its shorten arms were meant for it to be conveniently kept in one's pocket.
